Adobe Photoshop Elements 9 Not Installing on Windows 7 64bit

Do you keep getting a blue screen of death when you try to install photoshop elements 9 on Windows 7 64bit? Have you tried installing from the CDROM using the compatibility settings and nothing works? Are you ticked off that tech support has NO IDEA what you are talking about????
Try these simple steps. This is what I figured out for my friend on his Toshiba running 4GB RAM and 500GB HDD and a Core 2 Duo processor.

1 – Turn off the UAC (User Account Control)
You can find this inside of Control Panel -> User Accounts -> (YOUR USER NAME HERE) -> Change User Account Control Settings -> (And simply turn them off by moving them to the lowest setting possible.

2 – Restart your machine or logoff and login. (This makes sure the settings are binding).

3 – Make sure your display settings are in an acceptable range for Photoshop. (You can make them bigger again later). I would shoot for 1280×768 or smaller.

4 – Install away. You do not even need to try compatibility settings now, but if you have an issue, simply right click the installer file before you try again, choose “Properties,” Click the
tab “Compatibility” and select to run as administrator or run it under a previous type of windows OS.

You are going to be very happy!
